Engine Specifications:
- 2100cc pinto
- 155 bhp at wheels
- +2.25 mm overbore and short skirt pistons,balanced, with extra
oil grooves
- Conrods hand ground to lighten and relieve stress points
- 3 stage balancing, bead blasted and heavy duty cap bolts
- Crankshaft ground -0.25 and balanced good for 8000+
- Flywheel lightened to 12lbs drilled dowelled and balanced
- Block 205 honed to eliminate ovality and give correct piston
to bore clearance
- Cylinder head machined flat and equal valve seat area height
on all 4 inlet and exhaust valves
- Reworked combustion chambers
- Inlet valve guides polished and 4 deg taper added
- Valve seats cut at 45 and 60 degrees
- Combustion area measured at 54.5 cm 3
- Taking into consideration 1mm thickness of head gasket this
gives a compression ratio of 11.4 - 1
- Inlet valves have 30 degree cut to reduce seat contact area
and polished 45.5mm
- Exhaust valves polished 38mm
- Valve stems shortened and matched to attain correct camshaft
sweep and increase lift
- Approx 3mm shortening
- Camshaft emerald phase 5 full race timed at 108 degrees with
emerald inserted pad followers modded to eliminate contact with
spring cap
- Heavy duty single springs and clearances of 8 inlet and 10
exhaust
- Carburation is twin dellorto 48s with 40mm chokes and facet
red top pump
- Distributor is piper and timed at 30 degrees advance at 4000
rpm driven by a lumenition system with a high power balasted coil,
spark plug gap 0.85mm
